.. THANK YOU TO ALL DONORS!!! As CCH looks toward 2010, there is much to be thankful for, due to the faithful help of friends and supporters from all over the world. It is true that CCH may face some tighter times ahead, but so far CCH has been able to continue to care for its 140+ children, as well as those who are currently outside of CCH for vocational training or schooling. We could not do it without all of you, our caring donors. Thank you ever so much!! The Results of Our Efforts You may see for yourself by the looks on their faces how CCH children are doing. I found it hard to take a bad photo!
Plans for the Future On the theme of thanking donors, CCH has much to be grateful for in receiving help to purchase land and to build new facilities for future needs. In January, 2008, CCH initiated a program of land acquisition and construction in the area surrounding the existing CCH 2 boys dormitory and computer lab. The land purchased between January 2008 and March 2009 includes the site of the future CCH Youth House (for 18-23 year olds), and for CCH 3, which will be dormitories and a school building for CCH children under 18 years of age. In addition to the land acquisition, funds have been raised to build part of the Youth House facility and most of the dormitory facility for CCH 3. This fund raising effort owes thanks to many international donors, especially the Eli Svanhild Riska Thorsen group from Norway, which provided approximately half of the funds to purchase the CCH 3 land, and all of the funds so far for the CCH 3 dormitory. Dormitory construction will begin in 2010. Other funders for the CCH 3 land purchase include Happy Hearts Fund, Friends of CCH, and 100 Friends Project, all from USA. Purchase of land and construction funds for the CCH Youth House has been a joint effort of Canodia Fund (Canada), De Stortkinderen VZW (Belgium), and Friends of CCH (USA).

And Finally......... Here we are at the end of this month's report, and we have not even mentioned the new CCH International School! CCH has taken all of its children, grades 1-6, out of Cambodian public schools. They now attend the new CCH International School, which is located at the CDCC facility, and is taught entirely by CCH staff. We try not to make these newsletters too long, so more detailed information about education at CCH will have to wait until the January issue. But, in short, things have had a promising start.
