. CCH School Completes First Year CCH International School has successfully completed its first year of operations for grades 1-6. Next year, the school will encompass grades 1-9. This pilot project has been a success so far. See it in action in this You Tube Video.
Continuation of the school after next year is far from certain. It will depend on success in achieving adequate funding, but we are hopeful. The goal of CCH International School is to provide high quality academic preparation for all CCH children, so that they are ready to enter adulthood fully prepared to be self-sufficient, well informed Cambodian citizens. Life Goes On CCH kids receive, as a matter of course, a lot of real life skills.
Here are some boys laying a concrete patio in front of the Youth House.
Here are girls who are receiving training in hair dressing.
There are bicycles to be repaired.....
...and news stories to catch up on.
There are practical details to attend to in running of the Youth House....
...and painting maintenace to be attended to at CCH 2 dormitory.
Mekong Youth Net Activities Some CCH graduates and younger staff participate in Mekong Youth Net (MYN). MYN provides training in Thailand about human rights, trafficking problems, and exploitation of vulnerable populations. Graduates of this program participate in grassroots training concerned with human rights issues. In May, 2 CCH staff members, Pho Phanet and Pho Phanny, traveled to Kandal Provice and gave presentations to local residents.
CCH 3 Construction Continues Apace The new CCH 3 dormitory construction continues steadily, as evidenced by these recent photos.
New Field Trip Bus for CCH Thanks to a generous grant from the MYTWO fund in the United States, CCH now has safe, good quality transportation for its many children when they travel on Road Shows, school field trips, and even back and forth between CCH school and CCH1&2.
And Finally......... The thing which always impresses visitors to CCH the most is the spirit of the children there. Here is more photographic witness to this remarkable spirit, taken on a recent boat trip on the Mekong River.
